Communication Towers

Mobilitie knows the telecommunications industry, and we seek to constantly innovate in the development of telecommunications infrastructure. We understand that the nature of your business is expansion -- greater coverage, greater accessibility, and greater flexibility. Carriers have traditionally been forced to choose between an internal ownership model that provides a high degree of operational flexibility but significant capital costs, or a lease model that has less up front capital costs but often at significant future expenses associated with operational restrictions.

Mobilitie’s Lease-to-Suit™ model offers Carriers an alternative solution for new tower builds that provides ongoing operational flexibility similar to a traditional internal ownership model, but without the typical up front capital costs.

Mobilitie’s Lease-To-Suit™ model is a much smarter solution than traditional Build-To-Suit agreements, which can be discovered by conducting a simple but thorough cost analysis. The graph below illustrates the significant financial benefit of the Mobilitie LTS model over a carrier owned scenario.

If you are currently deploying sites using a traditional Build-To-Suit model and would like additional information about why Mobilitie’s Lease-To-Suit™ model is a better solution, please contact us.

DAS

Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) enhance cellular coverage and capacity in difficult or challenging suburban and urban environments. The distributed architecture improves cellular signal coverage with antenna heights that are typically lower than the average macro-cell sites. As broadband wireless becomes a reality, DAS systems will play an integral part in any carrier's coverage strategy.

Mobilitie's DAS Solution operates on an existing network of fiber-optic cables. We are committed to building upon this infrastructure to make DAS easier and less expensive to deploy.
In order to realize this commitment, Mobilitie serves its clients in a number of ways:
  • Commoditize DAS - Mobilitie's existing fiber-optic networks provide clients full flexibility for network expansion and enhancement with minimal deployment and operational costs.
  • Reconfiguration and Growth - Mobilitie's existing fiber optic network provides ultra-bandwidth transport capabilities for future network resource expansion and growth and significantly lowers initial deployment costs .
  • Maintenance - Clients benefit from Mobilitie's existing network management monitoring and field support for both active and dark fibers on a 24/7 basis.
  • Protocol Agnostic and Band Selectable - The fiber network is completely agnostic to bandwidth and protocol leading to easy and efficient future technology migration.

In-Building Solutions
The need for strong, reliable, and high-capacity wireless connectivity both indoors and outdoors is becoming a necessity for the ever-growing needs of the demanding end-user market. Conventional wireless service is typically compromised if an end-user attempts connectivity inside a steel and/or masonry/concrete structure and/or at an elevation of 200 feet (or greater) below or above grade. The in-building system effectively extends radio frequency and network bandwidth behind thick/dense walls and within unusual building configurations at any distance above or below grade, making them perfect for high-rise buildings, high square foot floor plates, subsurface facilities, and tunnels. Whatever your in-building needs (commercial, industrial, residential, entertainment) - whether you are a carrier, building owner, or business and end user - Mobilitie can satisfy your demand for flexible high-speed and reliable wireless connectivity. As a neutral host solution provider, we bring together the optimal solution for your wireless network needs. Mobilitie will help you:
  • Finance the project
  • Design and build
  • Operate and manage the system
  • Handle landlord negotiations and relationships
  • Provide technology and vendor agnostic solutions

Collocation

Mobilitie has several thousand communication towers across the country that are currently available for collocation. All of Mobilitie’s communication towers are designed to support multiple carrier installations. Mobilitie has an industry leading tower collocation team that is available to provide detailed information on each site and work collaboratively with our clients to ensure leases are finalized quickly, and ultimately that our client’s desired on-air dates are achieved.

What differentiates a Mobilitie site from other towers in the industry?
  • National Tower Portfolio – Mobilitie has a large national portfolio of available towers located in almost every state.
  • Highly Collocatable Towers - Most towers are designed to support 3 to 4 full carrier installations.
  • Available Capacity – Most sites still have adequate structural capacity for several collocations thereby reducing the need for tower reinforcements or technical redesigns to reduce loading
  • Available Ground Space - Most sites still have adequate ground space for several collocations thereby reducing the need to condense ground space footprints or obtain separate ground leases, which can lead to delays and additional costs.
  • “Like New” Condition - Most sites are less than 2 years old and therefore both the towers and compounds are in “like new” condition, with virtually no maintenance or aging issues.
How is the Mobilitie collocation process designed to ensure desired on-air dates are achieved?
  • Dedicated Collocation Leasing Specialists – The same Mobilitie’s dedicated Leasing Specialist works collaboratively with each client throughout the collocation lifecycle, from application submittal through on-air.
  • Quick Turnaround Times – Mobilitie has one of the industry’s shortest cycle times for the application to close process.
  • Flexibility to Prioritize Urgent Sites – Leasing Specialists don’t just prioritize work by application date, but also by desired on-air dates to always try and ensure our clients’ leasing and on-air deadlines are achieved or exceeded.
  • Availability of Complete Due Diligence – Mobilitie is an industry leader for maintaining comprehensive due diligence documentation on every site, all of which can be provided electronically to our clients.
  • Client Satisfaction Culture – We are continuously looking for ways to improve our collocation process. Mobilitie has a formal client satisfaction and feedback program for every collocation in order to ensure we continue to exceed client expectations.

Backhaul

As demand for wireless data services and data applications continue to grow wireless operators are seeing a huge increase in backhaul capacity requirements.

Transport costs already represent the single largest operating expense for wireless carriers. With this unprecedented growth in demand and the nearly linear relationship between cost and capacity with traditional Local Exchange Carriers (LECs), wireless providers will continue to reduce margin as their businesses grow.

Mobilitie offers a scalable, cost effective backhaul solution using cutting edge microwave technology. Mobilitie microwave equipment connects traditional macro sites to carriers' mobile switching centers. This solution can dramatically reduce operational costs, scale efficiently with minimal capital to deploy, and significantly reduce deployment time.

The Mobilitie backhaul solution offers superior performance and availability and unprecedented network visibility. Both Ethernet service and legacy TDM traffic are supported.

Mobilitie's wireless and fiber based backhaul solutions offer an alternative to LEC-provided backhaul and offer a strategy to disrupt the linear growth of transport costs.

Information

Designed, developed and built by wireless industry veterans to manage their site development, acquisition, and management activities. When Mobilitie needed a set of tools to help manage the mountains of information and countless site-related activities we looked to the marketplace to utilize available applications. It didn't take long to realize that there was no single solution that could meet our needs. No single solution that was built specifically for the wireless industry by wireless industry veterans. No single solution that could give us the flexibility to scale and evolve without exorbitant ongoing development and licensing costs and the headaches of dealing with software vendors.

So we built our own.

The result is Mobilitie’s Site Management Solution (SMS). This clean slate approach allowed us to do it right from the start. We developed a single platform that sits at the core of all key business processes. It was developed using open standards that provide for fast, low cost enhancements. It has virtually infinite scalability. It was designed to address the pain points associated with managing thousands of distinct locations by people who know this pain all too well.

Mobilitie SMS is the tool to aggregate and organize information, to maintain site integrity and control, and to drive new revenue from your portfolio. We use it. Now you can.
